The proper way to enter a Match

So you're new to the game or maybe just wondering what the best way to enter a Match in H&G?
well there are two ways to join a match.

But first! If you haven't already played the tutorial, you should do so now, view the image below:

Now that you understand the basics, we can get on with the first and most suggested way to join a match.

The ENTER COMBAT button

Pretty straightforward, just click the button and wait. This will put you in the first available Match that has exceptional ping for you, if you think your ping may be really high (200+ ping, How to check your ping) then you may want to manually join a match. While you wait you can go to the Campaign tab to watch the map and manage your AT's if you have some or you could go to the Assault Team page to buy and resupply AT's.

Joining a match from the Campaign screen

After you get used to playing the FPS (first person shooter) part of the game by using the Enter combat button on the Characters screen, you can start using the Campaign screen to help start or join already started matches.

first go to the Campaign screen

After that you will want to look at the list of battles to the right of your screen and view how many spawns the town has before you decide to join the battle.

Below is what would pop up on the left of the screen after clicking the space shown in the above image:

I noted that A line would be the easiest to win the match from.
You can also view the ping for that Match before hitting Enter Combat by hovering the cursor over the Ping icon, a number in a small black box will appear as shown below:

Ping is decided by whoever joins a match first, and places the match in the server nearest that player.

To join a match at a specific town hit the Enter Combat button under the town name:

Below is an image of the campaign screen with certain things pointed out show the screen after hitting Enter Combat at a town:

Above is an example of a good but also bad place to  start a match at.
Reasons why its a good match to start:
1.) It has a full list of AT's, and enough spawns to support a 40+ minute battle.
2.) There are tanks, however just because the spawn count information shown on the left shows that there are tanks, that doesn't mean that tanks will make in in the match. Make sure by scrolling down the list of AT's on the right that there are indeed tank AT's in the battle after you click enter combat.
3.) Both sides have a near even amount of spawns making the match more fun and worth playing.
4.) If the match is lost the AT's have a place to retreat to. (Blue line between towns)
5.) If the town is won Hopsten, the town the the east, will be able to be reinforced since it only has one AT holding that town.

Reasons why it is not the best battle to join:
1.) Since the town where the AT's will retreat to is in battle (semi-transparent circle around town) there is no way to re-attack if the battle is lost.
2.) Not as big as a problem but if you prefer to have Air support there are not any Planes available.
3.) The town north of Hopsten would be a more advantageous battle to win first opening up the supply and re-attack line to Enschede.

Below the Spawn count information for Hopsten is show, this is what a non-ideal match will have, this would be a battle you would avoid joining even if other people from your faction have joined.

Fighting a match with only infantry, and very few spawns makes it boring for both sides and will create a loss for the side with hardly any spawns.

If you prefer a certain map be sure to check before entering what kind of map it is before joining.

That's most of everything you need to know to join matches using the Campaign screen. If you wish to get some practice with a new character or weapon, scroll down the list and find a mission that says Debug:"insert random town name here" and enter combat there, that way you can practice without affecting the Campaign map.

For a match to start there has to be 4 people of each faction in the Lobby of the match. After at least four people from each faction join the match will begin and will be filled by both people who use the matchmaking Enter Combat button on the Character screen as well as people who wish to join from the Campaign screen.
There is a maximum of 18 players per faction allowed to join a match.
